2012 Work Highlights!

I really do have the coolest job!  It’s a lot of work that takes a lot of time and has the best results.  I love everything I make and feel a connection to each one.  I just wanted to share a few pictures of the fun stuff I got to create last year and I know 2013 will bring even more fun projects!!!

This first picture was a thrill to receive because I thought I was doing this customized Superman cape for a child, but when the customer sent me the pictures of who she gave this cape to I was stunned!  The “EWA” on the cape stands for the Education Writer’s Association and their guest speaker back in May was Mayor Cory Booker! {photography by Darryl Moran}

When I started out making capes the letters were just a big letter on a circle… then people started asking for more customization with lightning bolts and such… and then some people got really inventive and trusted in me to design something really different and here are a couple of them:

A couple of customers asked me to put their super little ones full names on the Batman symbol.  It ended up looking really cool, and after I made one for one customer I found out that this was a birthday present for a child of 2 celebrities… I won’t say their names outright, but I’ll give you hints: bassist for Fall Out Boy, cute blond singer & sister of another famous {pregnant again} sister… and the name on the cape is another giveaway.. ha… The Neverland Nook customer was a really nice family member who has promised pics, so hopefully those will come soon. :)

I also delved into baby stuff a little this year.  I really love making new things and when I came upon the idea of crinkle toys I just loved it!  Even better was when a customer and I worked together to personalize one I couldn’t stop with just the one.  I fell in love with some designer fabrics and the crinkle material which is machine washable and meets EN71 and CPSIA standards for safety.

 Everything that happened at Neverland Nook really has been a highlight and I would love to share everything {as I’ve tried below}.  I am forever grateful to everyone who was a customer, reader, supporter, my family, friends and I am looking forward to another productive & exciting year!!!!

    Oh my gosh girl, all of this is so amazing! I’m so happy for you! I can say that my girl was so thrilled with her cape and I heard lots of “Super Audrey!” during Christmas, as she “flew” around the house! Thanks again!
