“Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet.” -Vietnamese Proverb
A couple of weeks ago I met a newborn baby girl who was welcomed into her family with the most loving older sibling arms. Not only was her mother absolutely relaxed and beautiful just days after having her baby, dad was head over heals in love for the 4th time, but her older brother and sister were literally begging to hold her and didn’t want to share her with their parents. It was absolutely precious! I could have shared every photo from this family session, but I’ll let mom and dad share those with their family and friends. Getting a glimpse into their beautiful home with this laid back family made for a very good start to my weekend.
I really enjoyed doing their at home session. It allowed for everyone to feel more comfortable in front of the camera because they were in their own space. I know how awkward it can be when you’re trying to act natural in front of the camera, so being in your own home definitely does help change the dynamic. Capturing the connections of human interaction is my favorite part of photographing families and couples: the simple hand hold, tickle of feet, hug, etc… These kiddos sure gave me a lot of that!
And can we just talk about this kiddo’s drawings for a moment? How idyllic are they?
