Honey Lemon Sugar Scrub

Honey and Lemon!  Yummy together and separately.  I couldn’t resist using both of these ingredients two weeks in a row {Honey Lemon Smoothie}.  Ever since I made the Sugar Cookie Facial Scrub for my friend’s baby shower I have been addicted to it.  I used up all that was in my little jar, so I just HAD to make a new batch with some yummy summer time ingredients.

What you’ll need:  5 cups of sugar, 2 cups of olive oil, 2 lemons, 3 tablespoons of honey

Why I chose these ingredients:

Honey – helps protect skin from sun’s damage, treatment of minor acne, absorbs and maintains moisture {source}

Lemon – smooths complexion, heals acne, diminish scars {source}

Olive Oil – moisturizes skin {source}

Sugar – natural exfoliate, doesn’t clog pores, diminish acne, restores balance to skin’s oils {source}

Mix Sugar and Olive Oil.  {The oil will separate from the sugar that is why I use a popsicle stick to mix the scrub together before I use it}

Squeeze both lemons into mix and stir.  {Watch out for the seeds}

Add honey.  {Yumm!!!}

Place in a cute jar and scrub that face, hands, knees, elbows, etc.! {One batch filled up a mason jar and 2 baby food jars}

      Hi Ashley! I don’t see why not, I believe I just used the actual lemon because it is nice and fresh. Thanks for stopping by :)

    How long does this mixture stay good for? Do you keep it in the fridge or out at room temperature? Thanks!

      I’ve had some in a mason jar for over 6 months and refill my little jar a lot, and keep it at room temperature, so it still has been good for me. The fridge might help the lemons keep their smell because they do lose the scent a bit, but I head if you add a little of lemon essence to it the smell will remain. Thanks for stopping by!! :)
