TIPsy Tuesday: “Milk & Cookies” Themed Baby Shower

Recently I hosted a baby shower for a good friend of mine.  I love to host parties and I especially LOVE hosting themed parties!  I looked everywhere for an idea and found my inspiration from clip art by Erin Bradley (lets face it, I find a lot of inspiration at her website).  I want to share some of my ideas for hosting a “Milk & Cookies” themed baby shower because we just had the best time!

Let’s start with the invitation, I bought that adorable clip art from Erin Bradley and made this invite using a free editing program called PicMonkey.  I printed the invites on (what I call) “brown paper bag” colored card stock.

Here is the main food table in its entire adorableness:

If you remember I featured the Fruit Cones in last weeks TIPsy Tuesday.  I wanted to stick with a dessert themed healthy snack for the guests.

I didn’t have any time to make homemade cookies, but that’s okay because I bought the Betty Crocker (semi-homemade) and chilled the batter for a bit to make sure they would be soft.  They were!  Everyone wanted to know the recipe to the peanut butter cookies!  They were so surprised they weren’t completely homemade (well, instead of oil I use apple sauce, so that may be part of my “secret” recipe)

I enlisted the help of my family and friends to collect Starbucks bottles from those cold frappuccinos to use as small milk bottles for people to drink out of.  I absolutely loved the way they looked with the red and white paper straws in them!

I found the larger milk jugs at Hobby Lobby on sale for half off, so I got 2 for 1 ($5 a piece)!!!  I also had chocolate and strawberry syrup to make milk even yummier and to match the red, blue, and brown theme.

With the help of my mom I strung up some onesies with red ribbon and clothespins.  Added a little more decor to the not-enough-time to go all out on decor as I would have liked to.  It was a cute touch!

My MOST FAVORITE part of this whole theme was the white chocolate “milk mustaches” I made.  When I found the mustache candy mold at Michaels I was ecstatic!  I couldn’t wait to make them!  Not only did everyone have fun with them, but they were adorable!!!

This party was so much fun and there is so much more to share, so stay tuned for next weeks TIPsy Tuesday when I will feature some more lovely ideas from this baby shower!  Thank you Gina for getting pregnant so I could throw this… “wait for it”…. awesome baby shower! :)
